Welcome to another edition of our podcast your Focus Driven Day with Lyman Montgomery. Stop making excuses for not building a team.
Why don't you have a team? You've been in business for how long and you still don't have a team oh I know yeah I know I've heard it before well I don't trust anyone I can't afford a team nobody will work with me. You know good help is hard to find listen if you are going to scale your business if you're going to be successful you must it is imperative that you build a team. The real question is how do you build a team? You see years ago I was a one-person operation and I was doing everything I was trying to edit videos trying to shoot videos they were crappy I made out at one or two of you now I get thousands of views thanks to Cedric and a good friend of mine Mark Anthony Garrett said Lyman, Mr. Focus Guy, stop it focus on what you do best and outsource the rest. Now a lot of you might be saying well I'm not making any money how can I build a team. Listen your job as a leader is to cast vision is to cast a vision. You pull together a group of individuals and be honest with them sit them down and say listen this is what my vision is for my company I need your expertise. Let me give you three reasons why you need a team. You see point number one if you don't have a team it shows a Lack of Trust. You're trying to do everything you're running around like a chicken with his or her head cut off you need to trust the skill set of others. Point number two Teams Give You Leverage. What I mean by that? You're able to pull from their expertise whether it be marketing, finance, it might be social media you need the expertise of others to help you grow so you're not running around trying to be a one person show trying to do everything. The only thing that you'll be successful at is burning yourself out trust me I've been there. Also you cannot grow let me say it again You Cannot Grow Without a Team. Listen let's say you do a sales call you need to have someone to do the follow up. Let's say you have someone that's real good at pitching then you need to have someone that can close the deal that's the power of leveraging a team. So get busy in picking the right people not someone that agree with you, you need to look at what are my weaknesses and find someone strong in that area to put on your team, so that you can GROW, you can EXPAND and YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL.
