Hello, everyone. Welcome to the 30-day speaker's life activation system. In today's lesson 1.1, we will discuss, why do you want to be a speaker? Ask yourself that question. Go ahead. Ask yourself, why do I want to be a speaker? You see ladies and gentlemen, I believe that this is the absolute best time in history to be a speaker. But in order to be a highly paid speaker, there are three essential skills you must master.
Skill number one is your ability to connect with the audience. Let me say it again. Your ability to connect with the audience. Can you build rapport? Understand you have approximately one to three minutes in order to connect to build rapport before the audience will tune you out.
Number two, do you have the ability to convince the audience to continue to listen to you? In other words, do you have a compelling reason or story that will allow someone in the audience to say, gee, this is interesting. I need to pay attention. Causing the audience to lean in and to take note because you were able to convince them that they should continue to pay attention and to listen to you. I have seen speakers that are masterful at not just connecting and building rapport, but also having the audience on the edge of their seat. As they take them through a journey, through word pictures, through their animation. Their ability to convince the audience. This is someone I need to pay attention to.
And the third skill that is absolutely important to be a master speaker who is paid anywhere from five, ten to $15,000 per speech is your ability to convert an audience's applause into applications. You see, too often as a speaker, we become addicted to the sound of thunderous applause, but I don't know about you, but it is difficult to take an applause to the bank. And in this training, it's about how do you connect, convince, and convert the audience into clients.
I believe if you would follow these three simple skills, you will be in a better position to command a higher speaking faith. So again, ask yourself these three questions. Question. Am I able to connect with an audience within one to three minutes? Number two, am I able to convince the audience that I am the only logical choice either to continue to listen or to do business with, if you're doing a sales presentation and number three, do you have the skills and the ability to convert the audience from not just an applause, but into client applications.
Think about those three things. And I will see you in the next lesson. Thank you.
